All arts programs—including those at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts—that offer programs in a specific discipline use the same components for auditions in that discipline. This means that you only have to prepare and submit, say, one dance audition when applying to three dance programs.

Auditions consist of the same components whether they are virtual or in person.

When the audition and application period open, here's how to apply to arts programs:

Prepare and submit an audition by March 1

Students can apply to any arts program online by submitting audition files through the “Additional Materials” tab in MySchools.

Some schools will also provide the option for students to audition in person instead.

No preference will be given to students who use either format.

Submit your program choices by March 1

For any arts programs except those at LaGuardia High School: List these programs (along with the rest of your choices) in your true order of preference on your high school application, then submit it.

For LaGuardia High School arts programs only: Register to participate in admissions for this audition Specialized High School. When you register, indicate which programs you’re applying to. Please note: LaGuardia uses a separate admissions method, so you cannot add LaGuardia programs to your high school application.
